Thought to originate in the Indian subcontinent, sesame is an ancient oil seed first depicted some 4,000 years ago in an Egyptian drawing of a baker adding sesame seeds to dough. Sesame is rich in protein and polyunsaturated fats and is used in cooking for its rich, nutty flavor.

Washed Natural Sesame
These seeds have been washed and put through a heat process as a kill step for bacteria. They come with hulls still in-tact.

White Hulled Sesame
White hulled sesame seeds have been chemically de-hulled, which is the process of removing the outer tusk from the seed.

Toasted Sesame Seed
Our toasted sesame is available as natural or hulled in varying color standards from light to dark.

Sesame Flour
Sesame flour is produced from partially de-fatted sesame seeds and can be used as a partial replacement for wheat flour.

Tahini is a pasted form of sesame most often used as an ingredient in the ethnic dip, hummus.

Sesame flakes are processed from the whole seed so they contain all of the original oil from the seed. They are available natural or hulled.
